Hi!

I'm Marie Ward, a designer and illustrator that loves both digital graphics and classic analog creation. I have experience working with a range of clients from branding for start ups, interning at corporate companies, and freelance design and illustration that has helped me evolve my artistic style.

I am passionate about typography and love to use it as the primary (if not only) design element in creating book covers, logos, web banners, posters, branding, magazine spreads, and more. Alongside typography I enjoy getting technical with graphics and illustrations to compliment my designs.

In my spare time, I design tattoos, create detailed pen drawings, and experiment with Adobe. Being a photo-realism pen artist has made me integrate immense attention to detail into all varieties of my work.

IT BOOK COVER REDESIGN

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign

The concept behind this book redesign was to utilize typographic elements as the focal point for a cover. Specifically for this book, I designed it with the goal in mind to capture the dark and suspenseful tone throughout It. This project was intended to use no images, only vector graphics and type. The cover features iconic elements significant to the story such as the red balloon symbolic of Pennywise the Clown and the bike illustrating the main group of kids during the 1950s.
